Some of the best poetry I've written has happened either in a class or group of like minded poetry lovers. My hope is that we will meet and study poetry forms during our meetups, write on our own then come together to workshop the poems we've written and study the next form. I would very much like to have a diverse group of people and encourage anyone who loves poetry and desires to write to join us.

THIS IS A VERY BRIEF SUMMARY OF OUR VERY LARGE SPHERE OF STUDY. This group requires that members are aged 18 years old or more. We are a private study group devoted to Asatru and Hellenismos (the ancient Northern and Southern European spiritual traditions). We are not a kindred, we focus instead on an informal study of the lore, sagas, traditions, mythos, poetry and history of the ancients, from Beowulf to Homer. It's not all bookish study however. We can experiment with Runes and anything else …

A supportive environment to help each other write, get feedback, encouragement, and improvement in any genre of writing. We are also planning on publication of work, whether through submissions to small magazines, or full-length books to commercial publishing houses. Anyone who has a real interest in writing may join.
It's not you, it's me. . . It's not that I don't want to read your stuff -- I need to write my own first. This group is for writers who are Not looking to share their work or join a class, but who simply want to write. Get Out and Do It. Make it real. Just show up and do your thing. Polish that short story. Start a poem. Write a novel. Flash fiction. Blog. Start a screenplay. Freelance. Stay or leave whenever you want. . . Show up early or stay late to chat. See you there!
… I'd like to keep it that way, or at least keep us all open to suggestions. Poetry readings, open mic nights, artists' exhibitions, jam sessions, dinners (/lunches/breakfasts), happy hours (/angry hours?), impromptu public art projects, general social tomfoolery -- whatever. Really. Let's just get together and do it.
