Berks Bards is a non-profit group active in the Greater Reading region since 1999. It promotes poetry as “living art” for ordinary people. Monthly poetry readings feature an invited poet and an open mic. They also host special poetry events for the Literary Festival in October and BardFest in April.

This society’s focus is poetry, and facilitates gatherings to hear and recite published and/or original works. Ideally this group will bring together people with a wide range of poetic experiences ranging from novice to well-read. At each meeting, one should bring a collection of poems to share.
