Hello Poetry lovers

A few days ago I heard an interview on npr with the singer/composer Kristina Asbjornsen who put two poems of Bukowski in music: "I wish to weep" and "Slow day" for the soundtrack of "factotum", a movie about Bukowski life. I pasted the poems below. The songs do really capture "something" of the poems. You can easily find the music on You tube (go to www.youtube.com) with the following search for videos: "dadafon i wish " and you will get the two songs.
Poems by Bukowski:
I WISH TO WEEP
all theories
like clichés
shot to hell,
all these small faces
looking up
beautiful and believing;
i wish to weep
but sorrow is
stupid.
i wish to believe
but belief is a
graveyard.
we have narrowed it down to
the butcher knife and the
mockingbird.
wish us
luck.

SLOW DAY
It's just a slow day
Moving into a slow night
It doesn't matter
It doesn't matter what you do

Everything just stays the same
The cats sleep it off, the dogs don't bark
Everything just stays the same
There's nothing even dying

It's just more waiting through a slow day
Moving into a slow night
It doesn't matter what you do

There's nothing even dying
It's just more waiting through a slow day
Moving into a slow night

Everything just stays the same
You don't even hear the water running
Everything just stays the same
The walls just stand there and the doors don't open

More waiting through a slow day
Moving into a slow night
Like tomorrow's never going to come
Its just a slow day
Moving into a slow night
It doesn't matter
It doesn't matter what you do

Just a slow day
Moving into a slow night
It doesn't matter what you do

Its just a slow day
Moving into a slow night
Like tomorrow's
Like tomorrow's never going to come

And when it does
When it does
It'll be the same damn, damn thing
