Amnesty international slam poetry

Amnesty International Saint Louis University is hosting a slam poetry outdoor event on campus titled: ?SLAmnesty: ?You may say I am a dreamer, but I am not the only one.?? Three-time HBO Def Jam slam poet, Big Poppa E, is coming to emcee the event. He has a very diverse appeal and will draw many different kinds of people--students, staff, faculty, and general public--to the event. We also plan on having local slam poets and artists to participate.



The event will be held outdoors on Tegeler Field on Friday, April 18th. It is tentatively scheduled for 3:00PM. We also have a rain date and location at BSC 170 on Saturday, 19th. This is a FREE event and will be open to the public.



We invite you to participate during this event by tabling for your organization. As part of Amnesty International, we have many pamphlets and brochures from various campaigns through Amnesty International such as the death penalty and violence against women. We want to pair a campaign with an invited organization to connect Amnesty International?s mission to your organization?s mission. Along with your organization?s informational packets will be Amnesty International?s campaign on an issue related to what your organization specifically believes in.



When fighting against social injustices, the dream for equality may seem intangible and grueling. This event seeks to unite the social justices groups on and off-campus to ensure that the dream for a better world is still alive and we are not the only ones fighting. Please join us as we make strides to unite and protect human rights.
