"Thanks for the initiative Tania. I talked to the coffee shop owner early Mothers Day. The national organization we are affiliated with (Poetry Slam Incorporated) does not allow censorship. As a Slammaster with PSI, to maintain my certification, I can't censor poets and their poems. We are a free speech organization. Venues with religious backing, understandably, usually want to censor poets, and the owner of the coffee shop made that clear. "

"We're familiar with EB5, but like you said they open late. EB5 is one of our venues during our Super Slam Week (when we have the slam competitions that result in our team), and we're using it for a fundraiser in July. Usually you have to book long in advance if you want to have something there. "
