Introduction: My friends call me Abe, I am 55 years of age and have been addicted to writing poetry for about two years. I joined this group to see what the real experts have to say about my poems. Please, no throwing cream pies on open mic night!

What writing rituals/habits do you have, if any?: When writing something new and fresh, I like the early morning quiet and a cup of coffee, no matter what time I actually get up. Revisions get done in the bathroom.
How long have you called yourself a writer?: I will leave that to others more qualified. I consider myself to be a "writer in training."
What are your goals as a writer, if any?: I write about things we don't like to think about very often, but should. If I can also entertain and inspire the reader to action or at least be better off for having read my poem, I have achieved my goal, Oh, and become U.S. Poet Laureate
What changes would you like to see in your writing craft/talent with this group?: I wrote 200 poems before I found out they don't all have to rhyme! I am here to educate myself so that someday, I can call myself a poet, and know it. I know, I know.
