We will be looking at Scottish poets. From Robert Burns to Kathleen Jamie and Jackie Kay; we are looking to discuss some of Scotland's best and lesser known poets. Bring along a couple of poems by your favourite Scottish poet and maybe one or two of your own if you dare! Nah - we really are a fun loving bunch and we look forward to meeting you and hearing what you've got to bring along. Please come down and check it out - I think you might be pleasantly surprised at how much fun we have!

Hope to see you there and look forward to meeting you all!

Very enjoyable night as usual. Melanie you did a great job. Thanks to the poetry meet-up I have learnt about some more famous Scottish poets besides Robbie Burns. Also discovered he had 15 children by different women and that he was married once. Thus his wonderful poem "Marraige". I am working on that challange you gave me. Melanie.

Why thank you, Melanie! I'm deeply honoured. Afraid I might have to read some Hugh MacDiarmid, though. Those offended by verses in the 'Doric' should bring their i-Pods.

Hey guys - this is the first meeting that I am running - I am open to suggestions for topics going forward. This month's Scottish theme is in honour of Guy who has been running the show for Daniel these past months. I am really looking forward to a good night and hope even more of you can make it!

    •  Lovely evening. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it. I had a great time and hope you did too! Picked up some wonderful bon mots and learned about some new (to me) poets. Cheers!
    •  Thanks to Melanie for organizing another great poetry evening so well. The message is now loud and clear from everyone, I think: this group is all about DISCOVERY...to boldly go where no poets have gone before. Long may it live and prosper!
    •  it was great
