Hi! Im excited about joining this meetup because Ive been writing poetry for as long as I can remember. However, I was never involved with any groups that shared my interests. Im hoping to meet others with the same passion for poetry that I have.

My most unforgetable momemt as a poet was realizing that my poetry was interesting to others. Getting a positive reaction from others led me to believe that I had written something worth sharing.

When i first performed, I was so nervous. It was a local soul food restaurant that had open mic nites on Thursdays. However, I perform often when I teach poetry to my 7th grade writing class.
