The Poetry Grind is at Cafe Rembrandt!

Tonight's Special event is the Last Chance Slam! 7 poets will compete for the last spot in the Poetry Grind Grand Slam on April 30th!

National Poetry Month Calendar for April will be:

April 16th-Last Chance Poetry Slam for the Poetry Grind National Poetry Slam Team

April 30th-Final Poetry Slam for the Poetry Grind National Poetry Slam Team!

Starting in May through August-the Third Thursday night of the month will be Open Mic All Night!

Cafe Rembrandt is in Downtown Dallas on McKinney ave across the street from Hooter's and the House of Blues. It is located in the center of the Brewery building, plenty of excellent free parking, close to the West End Train Station, no cover charge, great food and adult beverages and it is a really cool space. A place avant gaurde enough to host the Velvet Kittens burlesque shows twice a month is more than capable of handling free speech poetry readings.

Sign-up begins at 8pm. Open Mic at 8:30pm and Poetry Slam at 9:30pm.

It was quite an interesting mixed bag of open mic poetry/music before and after a really good Poetry Slam. The Last Chance Poets came with tons of Passion. Ronnie Stephens beat out Topic, Roderick and Justin Tate to advance to the Grand Slam Finals on April 30th. It was great to see some new faces and hope to see many more on the 30th.

    •  I enjoyed the whole event...even the audio difficulties, okay maybe not the feed back - but here is my feed back. The poets were great! I enjoyed seeing Jason Carney, that was unexpected and a treat for me. I am looking at attending the Finals in two weeks!

It was an interesting evening with a very diverse open mic filled with poets and musicians before and after the poetry slam. The Last Chance Poets had a ton of passion. Ronnie Stephens narrowly beat Topic, Roderick and Justin Tate to advance to the Grand Slam Finals on April 30th. It was great to eight new faces in the crowd. Hope to see all of you out on the 30th for the Grand Slam Final!
